The First Sergeants and Chaplain Corps in partnership with the F.E. Warren Air Force Base Commissary opened the Wrangler General Store Food Pantry July 9, 2025.

The Pantry, located at the Chapel Activity Center, was created to provide free, self-selected food and household items to active-duty members, reservists, retirees, and their families facing temporary financial hardship.

The program began as a donation bag effort through the commissary, where patrons could purchase pre-packaged food bags for military families in need.

Over time, the program evolved to reduce food waste and increase accessibility, leading to the creation of a walk-in pantry format, allowing individuals to select items based on their specific needs.

Access is available during duty hours at Building 212 and it is also 24/7 by going through first sergeants and chaplains for emergency needs.

The Wrangler General Store maintains full anonymity for users, with no check-ins and no names, the pantry strives to ensure privacy and respect for every individual.

Leaders hope the new format removes the stigma sometimes associated with food assistance while offering another layer of support to the installation.

As plans to add fresh food, holiday meals, and support for newcomers move forward, the pantry’s mission stays the same, to help Airmen and their families by providing easy, judgment-free access to food.
