Warren spouses toured base facilities Nov. 16 to increase knowledge and awareness about Warren's mission and available services.

"It's important as a spouse of a military member in a leadership position to be aware of everything our base has to offer so we can pass on information to families and direct people to the right services," said Melody Carey, wife of Col. Michael Carey, 90th Space Wing commander, who organized the tour.

Spouses of squadron commanders, operations officers, chiefs, first sergeants and group leadership spent the day becoming familiarized with various base services. Their stops included the airman and family readiness center, airmen's attic, Freedom Elementary School, Trail's End Club, the 90th SW command post, thrift shop, Fall Hall Community and Teen Center, a missile procedures trainer and a sexual assault response coordinator meeting.

"It's important to have some knowledge about missiles and the base, and to get the word out to those who don't know. We need to know what the military people do at the base. It helps increase understanding and the health of the marriage," said Pat Vaughn, wife of Col. Michael Vaughn, Twentieth Air Force operations commander.

Each spouse also received a spouse coin at the end of the tour from the AFRC.
This is the second spouse tour at Warren organized by Mrs. Carey. The first was a welcome tour for Eileen Deppe, wife of Maj. Gen. Thomas Deppe, Twentieth Air Force commander, and was open to group leadership spouses. This time the tour was expanded to include wing leadership spouses as well.

"It's nice to see what our spouses are talking about. It's important that we know what they do and see what services Warren has to offer," said Terri Morgan, wife of Col. Michael Morgan, 90th SW vice commander.
