National Infant Immunizations' Week from April 21 through 28 is an annual observance sponsored through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The observance promotes the benefits of immunizations and to improve the health of all children.

Immunizations, shots or vaccinations help bodies build protection or immunity against diseases and infection. Children should receive immunizations at the ages of 2 months, 4 months, 6 months, 12 months, 15 to 18 months, and 4 to 6 years of age and 11 to 12 years of age.

The 90th Medical Group is holding a coloring contest for ages 4 to 11. The picture will run in the base paper April 20. The 90th MDG will hand out stickers, balloons and coloring books to any child that gets immunized during the week.

For more information call the immunizations clinic at 773-2170 or the pediatric clinic at 773-3733.
