Historic homes tour highlights Warren’s lineage Published July 13, 2007 By Airman 1st Class Daryl Knee 90th Space Wing Public Affairs F. E. Warren AFB, Wyo. -- The 37th Annual Warren Spouses' Club Historic Homes Tour is scheduled to take place July 22 from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. The 45-minute tours, with refreshments, are free and open to the public as part of Fort D.A. Russell Days. This year's theme is 'The good 'ole summer time.' The tour will feature Quarters 117, 111 and 30 which were all built between 1910 and 1913. The interior of these historic homes have been upgraded and renovated since the initial construction, but the brick outside has not been changed. The plan is to let civilians see Warren's historic houses, said Cheryl Stanley, tour coordinator. Some residents here like to preserve the image of early Warren. Each of the homes on the tour will have a unique theme. Col. Michael Morgan, 90th Space Wing commander, lives in Quarters 117. The individual theme for this home is high fashion décor. Lt. Col. James Cardinal, 90th Maintenance Group deputy commander, lives in Quarters 111. This house has a dedication to quilting atmosphere. Lt. Col. Marc Piccolo, 90th Mission Support Group deputy commander, lives in Quarters 30. Colonel Piccolo will show off 1942's daily diversions and World War II memorabilia. The Frontier Chapel, also a part of the tour this year, will serve as a refreshment stop and will offer a walking path to and from some of the residences. The Music Man Quartet, a barbershop quartet, will perform 20-minute shows at the Argonne Parade Field gazebo at 11:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m. To register for the tours, visit the bus tents in the Fort D.A. Russell area at Centennial Lake near the main gate after 9 a.m. There are no advanced reservations, as individuals will be ushered on the bus as soon as the buses are ready.
