Fall Hall Community Center receives money for upgrade Published Nov. 13, 2007 By Airman 1st Class Daryl Knee 90th Space Wing Public Affairs F. E. Warren AFB, Wyo. -- Funding was approved early September for the Warren Fall Hall Community Center to upgrade its infrastructure. The 90th Mission Support Group awarded the center more than $5 million for improvements to the electrical systems, fire suppression systems, general health, safety concerns and handicap entries. "What an amazing thing," said Tara Morton, community center director. "This building went from being condemned a few years ago to being renovated now." Only in the first stages of planning, the center's new design depicts an almost complete makeover of the basement, first floor and second floor. Sprinkler systems will be added to each level and complete rewiring of some current electric functions may be needed. "Each upgrade will be conducive to a community center environment," Mrs. Morton said. "With this revamp, we'll be able to better utilize the space the center has to offer and make it as safe as we can to serve the community in a greater capacity. "This is going to be a wonderful asset to the community," Mrs. Morton said. "You don't see this quality of facility everyday. I want this community center to be the one every new Airman will want to go to." Once construction begins, the contractors estimate almost a year and a half until completion. The community center staff are not sure where a temporary site will be opened or what will be used. "We're going to have to move, that's for sure," Mrs. Morton said. "Although we'll be out of the main building for a little over a year, I'm sure that when we do move, we'll still keep Warren's young Airmen entertained."
