May Fitness Month: Survivor challenges Warren Published May 5, 2008 By Airman 1st Class Daryl Knee 90th Space Wing Public Affairs F.E. WARREN AIR FORCE -- An Air Force wide initiative began recently to improve Airmen fitness standards throughout the force. With a focus for fun fitness, Warren's May Fitness Month will have updated physical activities and more chances for Airmen to participate. "This is different from what we normally do," said Tech. Sgt. Kristen Salinas, 90th Force Support Squadron and the fitness month coordinator. "We've tried to incorporate all the different facets of the base in this year's fitness month. "We want to see more participation," Sergeant Salinas said. "If you don't like doing one activity, maybe another center will have something you'll like to do." Along with the programs regularly offered, there will be activities that Warren has not seen, she continued. For example, before the wing runs, there will be a MOPP 4 relay race. People don't usually don their gear for fun, she said, but hopefully this type of change will revitalize the idea of fitness for some people.
