Warren members participated in an Airman's memorial service held in the Bldg. 1235 high bay April 25.

Twenty-three year old Senior Airman Brian Sanders, 90th Missile Maintenance Squadron, died in his home April 21.

More than 200 family members and friends honored, remembered and celebrated Airman Sanders' life at the memorial.

"Brian charged through life with humor, friendship and a free spirit," said Lt. Col. Richard Lawrence, 90th MMXS commander.

"Brian was a great person, a loving husband, father, a loving son, but most of all, he was a best friend," said Senior Airman Ray Thomas, 90th MMXS.

"Brian was the best friend anyone could ask for. He would literally give you the shirt off his back," said Senior Airman Troy Kollman, 90th MMXS. "He would want us to celebrate the amazing life he had rather than mourn his death."

Airman Sanders was originally from Riverside, Calif. He joined the Air Force in 2004, and Warren was his first duty station.

During his tour here, Airman Sanders deployed to Mubarak Air Base, Kuwait, where he earned a Global War on Terrorism Expeditionary Medal. Colonel Lawrence presented an Air Force Achievement Medal posthumously.

"I can't overstate how very much his friends here at Warren will miss him," Colonel Lawrence said.
