The 90th Space Wing officially changes to the 90th Missile Wing during a retreat ceremony at the base flag pole 4 p.m. Tuesday.

The Warren Airman Leadership School's current class has researched the history of the Mighty Ninety since its inception as a space wing and some of the students will perform the flag retirement and a recitation of said history.

"It's an honor to know the wing thinks of the school that way," said Master Sgt. Susan Piasecki, 90th Force Support Squadron, about how wing leadership selected the ALS students to officiate the event. "Professional military education is terribly important for the future of tomorrow. Well, these Airmen are the future of the 90th Missile Wing."

After the ceremony, this ALS class will be the first one to graduate under the new missile wing, she said.

This unique situation presents a chance for them to become a part of the history of both the space and missile wings, Sergeant Piasecki added.

"It's a privilege to be an Airman during this part of space command history," said Senior Airman Robert Stevens, ALS student. "As a class, I hope we set the standard for future airmen of this great wing."

The ALS students will present the 90th SW flag to Col. Mike Morgan, 90th Space Wing commander, during their graduation ceremony July 17.

The retreat ceremony is open to all military members who want to attend. For more information call the protocol office at 773-2137.
