Frontiercade events include wingman briefings; Base agencies offering info classes to help Warren members deal with life’s hurdles Published Aug. 19, 2008 By Airman 1st Class Alex Martinez 90th Missile Wing Public Affairs FE WARREN, WYO. -- In addition to field competition events and a commander's call, this year's Frontiercade wingman day Aug. 22 will include various wingman briefings. "The briefings are designed to educate people about the key issues Warren members are dealing with on a daily basis," said Glen Garcia, mental health clinic. "It's fitting to offer education during a wingman day on issues that we as wingman can help with." The briefings will be held twice at 7:30 to 8:05 a.m. and 8:25 to 9 a.m. This allows interested members to attend more than one briefing. This time also allows those participating in the Frontiercade events to do so without disruption. Organizers encourage Airmen, supervisors, civilians and family members to pick two briefs to attend. "The hard part will be for people to only pick two briefings," said Marty Peek, sexual assault response coordinator. "They will all offer good information." The briefings are offered by different base agencies: -- Sexual Assault Awareness - Mandatory for active duty 25 years old and younger. -- Finances - "Surviving a Recession" -- Post Deployment Risk Factors -- Working with Different Personality Styles -- Healthy Couples and Relationships -- 15 Minute Meals/Cooking on a Budget -- Accelerating Fitness Goals -- Stress Management -- Benefits of Department of Defense employment -- Mentoring Future Air Force Leaders The mandatory sexual assault briefing will be given by Ben Atherton-Zeman of the Voices of Men organization. Mr. Atherton-Zeman is a non-traditional sexual assault prevention presenter who performs a multi-media play. The presentation is tailored to people 18 to 24 years of age, and touches on issues such as sexual assault and consent, dating violence and domestic violence and sexual harassment and objectification.
