WARREN AFB, WYO. -- Air Force Space Command sent representatives to share information on the command's missions and visions in support of Air Force Week in the Heartland Aug. 9 through 17. Offutt Air Force Base in Bellevue, Ne., supported the event that included many large and small activities throughout Nebraska, western Iowa, southeast South Dakota and northern Kansas. A space command informational exhibit was on display at many of the events that included Air Force Day at the Strategic Air and Space Museum and Omaha's Henry Doorly Zoo. "Air Force Week was a great opportunity for space command to share its mission," said Maj. Mia Walsh, AFSPC chief of space concepts and operations policy, and Air Force Week space representative. "People were interested in what space command has to offer, and what we bring to the Air Force strategic mission. "It's important for people to learn about [AFSPC's] mission in an area where everyone knows about strategic command, because our commands go hand in hand with each other," Major Walsh said. "I think people learned a lot about what we do." An informational video, pamphlets, Air Force Academy Band music CDs and AFSPC almanacs were available to the public. At the Strategic Air and Space Museum, Major Walsh spoke to attendees about the broad space command mission. Air Force week concluded with the Offutt Defenders of Freedom Open House and Air Show Saturday and Sunday. Capt.
