WARREN AIR FORCE BASE, Wyo. -- The under-30 intramural basketball league had another great match-up Tuesday with the 90th Security Forces Squadron A-team defeating the 790th Missile Security Forces Squadron team 62-44 at the Freedom Hall Fitness Center. The 90th SFS A-team had three players in double figures. The lead scorer for SFS was Airman 1st Class Oranzie Simmons with 21 points. Airman Brandon Davis had 14 points and Staff Sgt. LaRue Jackson followed with 11 points. Airman Julius Philpot, 90th SSPTS, led the MSFS team with 19 points followed by Airman 1st Class Christopher Humble, 790th MSFS, with eight points. The game's highlights included several exciting dunks from both teams. Airman Simmons and Airman Philpot were two of the high-flyers of the night. These two had a couple fast-breaks where they rose into the lights of the gym and thundered down with dazzling dunks. Overall, the SFS team's offense was just too much for MSFS to handle. The first half was a solid start for both teams. SFS outscored MSFS 24-15. An 11-2 run in five minutes of the start of the second half gave SFS a 35-17 lead, and they never looked back, outscoring the MSFS 38-29 for the half.
