Porch Stomps are returning here thanks to the Warren Company Grade Officer's Council.

The Warren porch stomp originated from the longstanding Air Force roof stomp tradition as an informal celebration recognizing a new commander, a retirement or other special event, said 2nd Lt. Celina Duvall, 90th Comptroller Squadron and CGOC treasurer.

The Warren CGOC has taken this tradition and revamped it to cover any occasion, not just promotions or retirements, and invade the house via the porch and not the roof.

"It's a self-invited party and basically a hospitality check for our commanders," Lieutenant Duvall said. The more people that come, the more fun the party.

Two of Warren's colonels have already been victim to the CGO porch stomp, she said. Col. Mike Morgan, 90th Missile Wing commander, and Col. Bryant Anderson, 90th Operations Group commander, met the CGOs with open arms.

Colonel Morgan's porch stomp even included fire trucks with their loud sirens to alert the commander he had guests outside.

The entertainment begins as the CGOs sneak to the house in the dark with their noise makers and bang on all the doors and windows, Lieutenant Duvall said. Once the colonels invite the guests in, food, beverages and good times ensue.

"The porch stomp is a morale program to bolster relations and communication with Warren's CGOs," she said. The CGOC also adopts other programs to bolster base morale in forms of fundraisers, community service projects, professional development and working alongside other base organizations and programs like the Airmen Leadership School.

In regards to who may be next on the porch stomp list, Lieutenant Duvall refused to comment saying it was classified "Top Secret."

"Everybody O-6 and higher is susceptible at any time," she said. "So, beware."
