Warren NCOs soon to retrain Published April 3, 2009 By Senior Airman Shenelka Pemberton 90th Force Support Squadron F.E. WARREN AIR FORCE BASE, Wyo. -- The NCO Retraining Program is a force shaping tool used to retrain NCOs from overage to shortage Air Force specialty codes to meet current and projected mission needs and force structure requirements. Phase I voluntary stage began August 6, 2008 and ended October 5, 2008. Any NCO in the identified AFSC and grade could have applied. Applications were worked first come, first served. NCOs on the master vulnerability list are coded in military personnel data system for the duration of the fiscal year 2009, which precludes assignment availability and deployment ineligibility for a period of one year after the program closeout date. Phase II, Involuntary, began March 25 and is scheduled to end May 31. Members included in phase II will be given an AFSC that meets Air Force needs. Fiscal year 2009 NCORPs retraining goal is 1,026 members. Phase II will be implemented in different AFSCs and grades: AFSC of 3A0X1. Staff sergeants and technical sergeants. Air Force Personnel Center designated. AFSC of 3C0X2. Staff sergeants and technical sergeants. AFPC designated AFSC of 3N0X3. Staff sergeants and technical sergeants. AFPC designated AFSC of 4N0X1.
