A new incentive-to-be-active program takes place at Warren from Saturday until Sept. 16.
Depending upon participation, Warren members can either win one of 17 monthly monetary prizes or an all inclusive, grand-prize trip to Las Vegas.

The Summer Rage 2009 campaign incorporates different activities for participants to collect stamps on a card, said Lorri Welsh, 90th Force Support Squadron marketing specialist.

Once all stamps are acquired and the stamp card is given to the base communibrary, the person's name is entered into the drawing for the monthly and grand prize.

"This program gives [Warren Airmen] a chance to meet new people, get together and have fun," Mrs. Welsh said. "And that's what the Air Force culture is all about."

For example, she said, stamp-worthy activities can range from purchasing a meal in the bowling alley's Missile Grill to signing up for a spouse orientation tour. Event times are so varied, a person's schedule should not affect the capability to participate Summer Rage.

"We have the most professional, dedicated Airmen working harder than ever before on a daily basis to ensure the nuclear enterprise meets our standard of perfection," said Col. Mike Morgan, 90th Missile Wing commander. "No doubt, this wing is a busy place to work.

"Although this hard work is necessary, we must not forget the toll that it takes on each person and family," he continued. "To that end, leaders must seek opportunities to encourage our troops to take time to relax and recover from the hectic pace."

Each week, most of the time Thursday at 3 p.m., there are activities worth two stamps called Rage Engage Days, Mrs. Welsh said. These individual, family and squadron-level events offer a time to create friendships and build camaraderie.

"These days are designed with activities for groups from squadrons or families to compete, play, learn and enjoy," she said. "[It's] working together to build a caring and productive community through work and play."

The first double-stamp event, Lake Rage, takes place at the base lakes June 11 and includes a youth fishing derby, kayak races, volleyball games and bicycle races.
