90th Missile Wing Passes double inspections, proves readiness Published Dec. 18, 2009 By Senior Airman Daryl Knee 90th Missile Wing Public Affairs F.E. WARREN AIR FORCE BASE, Wyo. -- The 90th Missile Wing underwent two simultaneous inspections between the end of November and into December. The Combat Capability Evaluation, conducted by the Twentieth Air Force from Nov. 30 to Dec. 9, targeted the unit's combat capability as indicated by their technical proficiency as well as their standardization, evaluation and training processes and procedures. During the CCE out brief, Col. Scott Fox, then 20th AF's director of safety and nuclear surety, named 15 professional performers and 22 professional teams, totaling about 139 Warren members. "On behalf of my entire team, I want to extend our appreciation for the exceptional hospitality and support provided by the 90th Missile Wing," he said. "I want to commend [the wing] for their superb professionalism and motivation we saw across the base and throughout the missile complex." As the CCE came to a close, Air Force Global Strike Command sent inspectors to conduct a no-notice limited nuclear surety inspection, an evaluation of the unit's capability to manage nuclear resources while complying with all nuclear surety requirements. '"Inspections will be a big part of how we do business in Air Force Global Strike Command," said Lt. Gen. Frank G. Klotz, the AFGSC commander. "These initial inspections are a way for us to gauge two things: both our own ability to carry-out inspections as a new command and to gauge our readiness to properly carry out the mission at our three missile wings." "I'm impressed with the work ethic of the men and women of the Mighty Ninety in preparation for the CCE," said Col. Greg Tims, 90th MW commander. "I am pleased on how we overcame the challenge of two significant inspections at the same time." "Well done," he said.
