AFGSC command chief visits Warren Published Nov. 19, 2010 By 1st Lt. Brooke Brzozowske 90th Missile Wing Public Affairs F. E. WARREN AIR FORCE BASE, Wyo. -- Air Force Global Strike Command's top enlisted member visited Warren Nov. 7 to 9 for a visit highlighting base support agencies. The purpose of the focused visit was to familiarize Chief Master Sgt. Jack Johnson with the 90th Missile Wing's supporting agencies and their programs. "I wanted to take this opportunity to thank the people in the background, the ones who aren't always out in the spotlight, but who are just as important to this mission," said Chief Master Sgt. Jack Johnson, AFGSC Command Chief. "It is noticed." Accompanied by Chief Master Sgt. Marty Anderson, 90th Missile Wing command chief, Chief Johnson made several stops around the base including the dining facility, the fire department, the operations group to discuss with chef and facility managers, the 90th Missile Security Forces Squadron guard mount, Independence Hall, the child development center, the bowling alley, the mental health and family advocacy units and the Airman and Family Readiness Center. "Most of the Airmen I meet today will touch not only the overseas, expeditionary mission, but the nuclear mission as well," said Chief Johnson. "Many Airmen across our Air Force won't have the opportunity to work in two unique missions like these Airmen here. This is why we need to help people understand just how important these individuals are to their country." One of the highlighted parts of the tour involved showing the chief the recent base renovations, such as Independence Hall's indoor track, as well as the ones that are in the process of being complete, such as the child development center. "It's great to see MAJCOM leadership come out here and show interest in what we do for Warren's Airmen," said Scott Flack, 90th Fitness Assessment Cell member. "His support and advocacy will help us in continuing to provide high quality programs and processes for Warren Airmen." The chief also met with members of Warren's senior leadership in order to discuss any major concerns within the 90th support programs and across the wing. This included Col. Greg Tims, 90th Missile Wing commander, Chief Master Sgt. Tammy Elliott, 20th AF Command Chief, and the majority of chiefs from each squadron on base. "It is very evident how very passionate and sensitive Chief Johnson is about our Airman," said Chief Anderson. "He really wants people to know and understand the honor and sacrifice that our Airmen and their families put forth in their duty." The 90th Medical Group's Mental Health and Family Advocacy team also met with the chief to introduce him to their support programs. "These initiatives really touch my heart," said Chief Johnson. "The need for our Airmen is great. Your primary mission is to take care of our people, and it seems like you are not only providing them with what you think they want, but more importantly, what they say they need." "Partnering with our leadership is what makes us successful, and Chief Johnson's visit will only further assist with that positive relationship," said Glen Garcia, 90th Family Advocacy Outreach manager. "These professional care-giving agencies are the nucleus for the success of our Airmen and ultimately the success of our mission," the chief further explained. While touring the base, the chief briefed at the 90th Missile Wing Commander's Call at the base theater. This provided him an opportunity to meet face-to-face with the Warren Airmen and civilians. "Continue to work hard, continue to contribute to the mission, and remember that we hold you and this mission in high esteem," concluded the chief. The chief will continue his quarterly visit next with Malmstrom Air Force Base, Mont.
