CFC celebrates 50 years of giving Published Oct. 14, 2011 By Staff Reports 90th Missile Wing Public Affairs F. E. WARREN AIR FORCE BASE, Wyo. -- The 50th Annual Combined Federal Campaign, in partnership with F. E. Warren Air Force Base, Wyo., started Monday and runs through Nov. 18, providing Airmen an opportunity to give to more than 4,000 local, national and international charities. According to their Web site, the mission of the CFC is to support and to promote philanthropy through a voluntary program that is employee-focused, cost-efficient and effective in providing all federal employees the opportunity to improve the quality of life for all. "Squadron and flight-level CFC representatives are the backbone of making this year's CFC a resounding success," said 2nd Lt. Ronald Ware, 90th Missile Security Forces Squadron section commander and CFC representative. "Warren's goal for this year is $121,000, which is an increase of $5,000 from last year's goal." Airmen from the Mighty Ninety surpassed their goal of $116,000 last year by raising $140,000. "It's no surprise the men and women of the 90th Missile Wing exceeded last year's goal by $24,000," said Col. Christopher Coffelt, 90th Missile Wing commander. "With the dedication and selfless service I see every day in performing our nuclear mission, I'm convinced our Airmen will exceed their goal again, giving back to the communities we serve, and that have given us so much." This year's campaign will kick off with 5K fun run/walk Oct. 21 at 3 p.m. The route begins and ends at the Trails End Club. Unit representatives will be present to collect CFC donations and pledges. "There are several ways to donate to CFC charities," said Master Sgt. Gary Snyder, 90th Security Forces Group, NCO-in-charge of Camper Support and CFC representative. "You can choose a pay allotment, cash or check donation, or pay online with a credit card. I donate because I care about our base and our community. I feel like this is one of the best ways to give back to my Air Force Family." Every Airman will be given the opportunity to donate to the charity of their choice. Representatives from each unit have been designated at points of contact to ease the contribution process. "I hope everyone will take this time to support the charities they feel strongly about," Coffelt said. "This is really about helping improve the quality of life for the people we serve. Every contribution, no matter how small, will make a huge difference in the lives of others." For more information, contact your unit CFC representative: 90th Security Forces Group: 2nd Lt.
