Housing privatization takes effect in March Published Feb. 17, 2012 By Airman 1st Class Dan Gage 90th Missile Wing Public Affairs F. E. WARREN AIR FORCE BASE, Wyo. -- Beginning in March, base housing will be operated by Balfour Beatty Communities, leaving little time for Warren members living in base housing to sign their lease. While a majority of those living in base housing have participated in lease signings held by BBC or visited their office in Bldg. 306 to sign their lease, there are still some leases left to be signed. "We would like to say thank you to all the F. E. Warren base housing residents who have signed their leases," said Kimberly Patterson, BBC community specialist. "As of this week, 86 percent of all residents made time to visit with a BBC resident specialist who assisted with their lease signing." Servicemembers who have yet to sign a lease for base housing are reminded to bring an up-to-date copy of their leave and earnings statement with them to their appointment. "Without the LES in place we are not able to start the basic allowance for housing," said Ginger Wood, BBC financial specialist. "It is important for our Military Members to bring a current LES to their lease signing appointments because March is approaching fast and we are striving for a smooth transition." In an effort to get the signed leases up to 100 percent, BBC is giving an extra incentive to those still needing to sign. "To encourage all residents to sign their lease by Feb. 24 we will enter their names into a drawing for a $100 gift card," Patterson added. Although there will be little change taking effect for those living in base quarters, military members with military spouses will have an added incentive to live on base beginning in March. "If you are military married to military, we will only collect the 'with dependent' BAH from the senior ranking military member," Patterson said. "The other military member will be able to keep part, or all, of their BAH." Those who have maintenance concerns after March 1 can call 637-6102 or stop by the work order desk at 5805 10th Cavalry Avenue, Bldg. 330 to schedule maintenance.
