Lane closures to affect Randall Avenue travel Published April 10, 2012 By Staff Reports 90th Civil Engineer Squadron F. E. WARREN AIR FORCE BASE, Wyo. -- The 90th Civil Engineer Squadron is closing Randall Avenue from Schriever Road to the east of the Gate 1 entry control point. Phase 1 will include closing Schriever Road from Randall Avenue to the Credit Union east parking lot entrance, and both east- and west-bound outside lanes of Randall Avenue from the east of the Gate 1 ECP to Schriever Road. Phase 2 will include closing both the east- and west-bound inside lanes of Randall Avenue from east of the Gate 1 ECP to Schriever Road. The purpose of this closure is to remove and replace sections of the concrete roadway that have deteriorated over the years. At the Schriever Road and Randall Avenue intersection, the valley pan requires complete removal and replacement. Starting the morning of April 16, Phase 1 of the Randall Avenue lane closure as outlined above will begin. The section of work at the south edge of Schriever Road from the Randall Avenue intersection is scheduled to take 21 days to complete -- this includes cure time -- and the entire Phase 1 portion is scheduled for a total of 35 days. Upon completion and acceptance of Phase 1, the contractor will start Phase 2. The entire Phase 2 portion of work is scheduled for a total of 30 days, meaning Randall Avenue is scheduled to be back to normal use by June 22. Signage will be placed to notify traffic of the closure and to assist traffic around the work area. It is understood there will be inconvenience during this type of work, but the 90th CES would like to thank all in advance for their patience and cooperation as this will improve the base infrastructure. Please note this time of year can affect both the start and completion dates for this type of project. If there are any questions or issues, please contact Charlie Howell, 90th CES construction management section, at 773-2269.
