Members of the Mighty Ninety, and their families, enjoyed the unique experience of pulling up blankets or lawn chairs, and watching a family film, projected at the parade field, here, Aug. 17.

Airmen 1st Class Alex Gunter, 90th Contracting Squadron; Vanessa McKelvy, 90th Comptroller Squadron; Ceasare Szur, 90th Communications Squadron; and Airman Andrew Madden, 90th CPTS, organized the free event, which was sponsored by Balfour Beatty Communities and the First Sergeants Group.

"This was the result of four young Airmen who just wanted to make a difference for the families on base," said Chief Master Sgt. Michael Garrou, 90th Missile Wing command chief. "It's amazing these Airmen took the time and initiative to do something positive for everyone on base."

Two giant projector screens, a sound system and free refreshments welcomed all in attendance on the parade field.

"We thought it would be a good idea to get dorm residents, and families, out and involved in base activities," said McKelvy. "We also wanted the dorm council to get our name out there so we can put on future events for the base."

More than 200 people came to the movie night, and the Airmen chalked it up as a success.

"Everyone I spoke with had an awesome time and thought the movie at the parade field was a great idea," McKelvy added.

The dorm council is currently planning more events for Airmen and their families.

"Right now, we are looking at doing other events such as a paintball tournament," said Szur. "We do not have another movie planned for this year, as summer is soon coming to a close; however, we would like to have this event become a repeated summer activity available to families."
