The Mighty Ninety welcomed Air Force Global Strike Command's top enlisted Airman to help congratulate Warren's newest senior noncommissioned officers Aug. 23.

Chief Master Sgt. Brian Hornback, AFGSC command chief, toured facilities at Camp Guernsey, Wyo. in the morning, before returning to F. E. Warren Air Force Base, Wyo., where he toured the Fall Hall Community Center and the Independence Hall Indoor Gym, prior to inducting Warren's master sergeants into the Top 3.

Before officially welcoming the 36 members of the Mighty Ninety into the ranks of senior enlisted leadership, Hornback took time in the afternoon to speak with them in a less formal setting, and express what he expected of them as they moved forward in their careers.

"There's an expectation which comes with rank, whether you are new to that rank or not," Hornback said. "People will hold you on a pedestal as a senior NCO, you need to take time now to determine what you stand for, what your values are, and then be prepared to lead by example."

During his time with the Warren Airmen, Hornback stressed the need to remember where they came from, and to look out for those following their footsteps.

"Take the experiences you've had in your career and use them to fix the things you see are wrong," he said. "Listen to your people - the leaders and future leaders under you - and work with them to make the greatest Air Force in the world even better.

"My way's not necessarily the right way," he added. "It's worked for me in my career, but the Air Force is always changing and what has worked for me may not work for you in the next 10 years."

While encouraging those in attendance to make things better in the Air Force for those serving under them, he also stressed the importance of continuing to better themselves in the process.

"Don't be too worried about your next promotion or earning another medal," said Hornback. "Do your job to the best of your abilities - expand your vision by being open to new opportunities and challenges - and those career advancements will present themselves."
