The Combined Federal Campaign, in partnership with F. E. Warren Air Force Base, Wyo., starts Oct. 1 and runs through Oct. 26, providing Airmen an opportunity to give to more than 4,000 local, national and international charities.
According to their Web site, the mission of the CFC is to support and to promote philanthropy through a voluntary program that is employee-focused, cost-efficient and effective in providing all federal employees the opportunity to improve the quality of life for all.

Warren's goal for this year is $115,000. Airmen from the Mighty Ninety surpassed their goal of $121,000 last year by raising $137,000.

"This year's campaign will kick off with 5K fun run/walk Sept. 28 at 7:30 a.m.," said 1st Lt. Jessica Whitney, 90th Comptroller Squadron Financial Services Flight commander and CFC representative. " The route begins and ends at Fall Hall Community Center. Unit representatives will be present to collect CFC donations and pledges. There will also be a pancake breakfast starting at 8 a.m."

There are several ways to donate to CFC charities, Whitney explained. Airmen can set up allotments from their accounts each month, or make a one-time donation with cash or check.

Every Airman will be given the opportunity to donate to the charity of their choice. Representatives from each unit have been designated at points of contact to ease the contribution process.

"I am very excited for the campaign this year," Whitney added. "CFC truly makes an impact on both our local and national community, and it's great that military members are so willing to give back to their communities. I know that if everyone just contributes $2.50/month, we could easily reach our goal this year. Every person can make a difference with less than one percent of their paycheck a month."
