This month marks the 50th anniversary of the Cuban Missile Crisis Oct. 1962.

Association of Air Force Missileers Director Retired Col. Charlie G. Simpson, then a Lieutenant, was a missile maintenance officer for the Titan 1 weapon system.

He is scheduled to visit Warren for a public viewing of a movie documenting his missile duty during the Cuban Missile Crisis and to hold a question-and-answer session with the audience Oct. 24 from 6 p.m. to 7 p.m. in the base theater, said 2nd Lt. Lucas Rider, 320th Missile Squadron.

"This event allows missile heritage to be shared with the entire F. E. Warren family," Rider said. "It is an opportunity to ask someone who lived the tale candid questions about arguably the most heated missile event of our nation's history."

The event is sponsored by the 90th Missile Wing Company Grade Officers Council. For more information call the CGOC secretary at 714-651-9027.
