Air Force Technical Applications Center career opportunities discussed with Warren missileers Published Nov. 9, 2012 By Airman 1st Class Jason Wiese 90th Missile Wing Public Affairs F. E. WARREN AIR FORCE BASE, Wyo. -- Lt. Col. Lynn Bentley, Air Force Technical Applications Center Radar Operations Division chief, visited Warren to speak with missileers about career opportunities in the AFTAC Radars Operations Division Nov. 5 and 6 in the 90th Operations Group Headquarters. The Air Force Technical Applications Center provides national authorities quality technical measurements to monitor nuclear treaty compliance and develops advanced proliferation monitoring technologies to preserve our nation's security. "It's a great opportunity --a unique mission," Bentley said. "A lot of the space and missile crew force doesn't know about it." Because of the AFTAC's nuclear mission, they seek officers with the skillsets space and missile crew Airmen have. The positions Bentley spoke of while visiting Warren are available to officers with space and missile Air Force specialty codes, Bentley said. While working with the AFTAC, Airmen can expect to sharpen these skills and develop new ones that will be useful in their careers in a joint environment , Bentley added. "You'll be able to have skills such as working with contractors and understanding how the acquisitions process works," he said. "People with these skills will be in high demand in the future." Missileers who could not attend the briefings or would like more information on working with the AFTAC can call Bentley at 321-494-1206 or DSN 854-1206.
