F. E. Warren Air Force Base youths, their parents and youth center staff work on lap blankets in the base youth center Feb. 14. Making the blankets, for donation to the Cheyenne Veteran Affairs Medical Center’s nursing facility was part of a community service project sponsored by the youth center. According to Tammy Stone, youth center director, seven children, along with youth center staff, delivered eight blankets to the VA the next day. Stone said it is the center’s goal to get the children involved in a community service project every month. “We wanted to get the kids more involved in the community.” Amanda Showmaker, youth program assistant, said. “They can do something nice and see how nice it is to give.” (U.S. Air Force photo by R.J.
