Members of the Mighty Ninety gathered in the F. E. Warren Base Theater March 20 for one of two all calls held by Col. Christopher Coffelt, 90th Missile Wing commander, to discuss the upcoming Nuclear Surety Inspection.

"Everybody has to be on their 'A' game, and that's what we're talking about," he said.

The NSI is like the Super Bowl for ICBM wings and passing it is like their license to remain stewards of the nation's nuclear deterrence force, Coffelt explained.

In addition to receiving a passing grade from inspectors, personnel should also take special pride in their work during the NSI because they should take any negative comments about their work personally, he added.

During NSIs, it is a time to show allies and potential adversaries that the U.S. ICBM force is safe, secure and ready, Coffelt explained.

"The whole world is watching," he said. "You all perform very well, and that will translate into a good inspection."

During his all-call, Coffelt provided some tips to take on this year's NSI.

-Maintain excellent dress and appearance: This is a show of high dedication to the profession of arms. This is our culture and how we are defined. Personnel should present a good image for the people who grade us from top to bottom.

-Mind customs and courtesies: As it should be every day, Airmen's conduct should be above reproach, especially during an inspection. Do not forget customs and courtesies.

-Use available resources: Do not be afraid to ask inspectors questions. Do not be afraid to call a buddy, call a supervisor or refer to checklists. Do not shoot from the hip.

-Do not leave the inspectors to fend for themselves: Personnel should escort inspectors around their areas of responsibility and make corrections as needed. If inspectors bring up an issue, address it openly and get it taken care of.

-Take time to study: While Warren personnel perform well every day, there is room to tighten up and polish. Put time in now. Study now.

-Communicate: Communication between and within units will help prepare those who will be evaluated later.
-Remember who the inspectors are: In the time between the inspectors' in-brief and out-brief, the relationships between Warren personnel and inspectors should be purely professional in nature, even if they are friends otherwise.
