F.E. Warren Air Force Base kicked off the Air Force Assistance Fund campaign March 22, 2019. The campaign, themed "Commitment to Caring," runs until May 3, 2019, with a goal of more than $48k. AFAF campaign managers are taking extra steps to spread awareness and help reach this year’s goal.

Air Force Assistance Fund contributions go to the Air Force Aid Society, the General and Mrs. Curtis E. LeMay Foundation among others. The organizations funded by AFAF provide Airmen with financial assistance in instances such as emergency situations, securing a retirement home for widows or widowers of Air Force members and more.

“Taking care of our own is the Air Force way,” said 1st Lt. Stephanie Sanchez, 2019 AFAF project officer. “That’s why the Air Force Assistance Fund is important to all of us.”

Each unit has an AFAF representative, and their goal is to contact every Airman, including those deployed or serving a temporary duty assignment.

Donations to the AFAF has no minimum or maximum amount, every penny will go to somebody in need.

"Every little bit counts," said Master Sgt. Michael Keen, 2019 AFAF project officer. "Our goal is to have at least 20 percent of base members participate to help meet our goal.”

As a part of the kickoff to this year’s AFAF campaign, the Warren Spouses Club donated $6k.
