F.E. Warren Air Force Base is home to the 90th Missile Wing, which was activated July 1, 1963, with the original designation of the 90th Strategic Missile Wing. Warren became the nation's first operational ICBM base with the introduction of the Atlas missile in 1958. Today, the Mighty Ninety operates Minuteman III ICBMs on full alert 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

The 90th Missile Wing employs approximately 3,361 military members and 964 civilian employees. Family members of assigned military members add another approximately 5,445 to the local population. Also, some 5,000 military retirees reside in the area.

The LGM-30G Minuteman intercontinental ballistic missile, or ICBM, is an element of the nation's strategic deterrent forces under the control of the Air Force Global Strike Command. The "L" in LGM is the Department of Defense designation for silo-launched; "G" means surface attack; "M" stands for guided missile, the 30 stands for the Minuteman series of missile and the G after "30" is the current Minuteman III.

The Payload Transporter III provides the ability to load, unload, transport, emplace, or remove and replace Minuteman weapon system aerospace vehicle equipment and supporting equipment in a controlled environment on air-cushioned pallets between the Minuteman launch facility and the Missile Support Base. Originally named in honor of Civil War Brigadier General David A. Russell, F.E. Warren AFB is the oldest continuously active military installation within the Air Force.

It is home to the 90th Missile Wing and Headquarters, 20th Air Force, of Air Force Global Strike Command.

Yes, our water meets all of Environmental Protection Agency's (EPA) health standards in accordance with Title 40, Code of Federal Regulation (CFR) Parts 141 and 142. However, F.E. Warren AFB was non-compliant from Oct 2021 - Dec 2021 due to an inability to complete a sample, this was rectified in February 2022 with normal results. Please see The 2021 Annual Consumer Confidence Report (CCR) for F.E. Warren AFB is supplemented by the attached 2021 City of Cheyenne Board of Public Utilities (BOPU) CCR. As shown in the City of Cheyenne BOPU CCR, Section 13, there were no violations of any standards in 2021. Included are details about where your water comes from, what it contains, and how it compares to standards set by federal regulatory agencies.

The motto of the wing is "impavide" which means undauntedly.
