Fort D.A. Russell Days and CFD volunteer opportunities

Below is a list of volunteer opportunities available for Airmen and their families during Fort D.A. Russell Days and Cheyenne Frontier Days.

 

Emergency Response Plan Committee - This committee consists of Wyoming certified Cowboy Medics and doctors. The committee plans exercises and emergency response for the rodeo. To sign up or for more information call 307-640-2068.

 

Cowboy Medics - These are emergency medical technicians who are Wyoming certified and aid the cowboys during the rodeo. Cowboy Medics are needed for the rodeo week and the week prior for slack. Call 307-640-2068 to sign up.

 

Parade Formation - Formations are set up for the parades that march the streets of Cheyenne and Cheyenne Frontier Days. To sign up contact your squadron superintendents or call 302-359-4422.

 

Thunderbird Dinner - This is a dinner with the CFD Chairmen and the T-bird pilots.  A separate dinner is held for the T-bird support personnel. Call 302-359-4422 to sign up.

 

Coronation Ball - Volunteers help set up and decorate for the dinner. The Coronation Ball is on July 13, at 6 p.m. at the Red Lion Hotel. The event is where Miss Frontier Days and her Lady-in-Waiting are presented to the CFD volunteers.  Call 307-773-3559 to sign up.

 

Commander's Reception- This event occurs the first Saturday evening of the rodeo which is hosted by the 90th Missile Wing commander at The Trail’s End Club. This is to recognize the military’s distinguished visitor who will be the Grand Marshal for the first parade. Volunteers will help with set-up and tear down of the venue. Military Monday - This is always the Monday of the Rodeo, this year it is on July 22. 150 volunteers are needed to assist with the opening of the 150' by 300' American Flag during the National Anthem. Call 307-773-4096 or 307-433-4933 to sign up.

 

CFD Park opportunities - CFD has 10 different committees where people can use their talents: parades, concessions, contract acts, Indian village, public relations, rodeo, tickets, security grounds, and military.  Members can assist with more than one committee. Static Displays - Different squadrons from base bring their military vehicles out for display on the CFD grounds. Volunteers will be ensuring the safety of the spectators and providing information on the display. Call 307-773-5714 to sign up.

 

90th MW open house Fort D.A. Russell Days - This occurs the first Friday through Sunday of the Rodeo here on F.E. Warren. Multiple events and locations display the history of the base. Multiple volunteer opportunities need to be filled, call 307-773-2980 to sign up. You can also go to this website to sign up.

 

Wyoming Heroes and Horses - Gives approximately 300 horseback rides to military members and their families. Volunteers are needed to lead the horses with riders. Call 307-421-9750 or visit https://www.signupgenius.com/go/60b044dacaa2eaafc1-wyoming to sign up.

 

 

Warren Spouses Club Historic Homes Tour - Give a housing tour of the historic brick houses.  Volunteers are needed to tell about the history of the houses that are on the tour. Go to Warren Spouses Club Facebook page to sign up.
