Colonel Brian B. Lane is the Deputy Commander, 90th Missile Wing, Francis E. Warren Air Force Base, Wyo. The wing’s 4,200 military, civilian and contractor personnel defend the United States with combat-ready Airmen and nuclear forces. They provide strategic nuclear deterrence by operating, maintaining, securing, and supporting 150 Minuteman III Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles (ICBM), which stand on alert ready to launch at the direction of the President of the United States.
Colonel Lane enlisted in the Air Force in 1996 and served as a KC-10A Boom Operator. He earned his commission in 2004 from the Air Force Officer Training School at Maxwell AFB, AL. During his career, he has had a broad range of staff and operational tours as an instructor/evaluator in aerial refueling operations and airborne/ground ICBM operations. He has served in Operations PHOENIX SCORPION, ALLIED FORCE, SOUTHERN WATCH, NOBLE EAGLE, ENDURING FREEDOM, and IRAQI FREEDOM.
Prior to his current position, Colonel Lane was the Chief, Command Centers Division, USSTRATCOM/J36, Offutt AFB, NE, where he led 176 joint service personnel in support of USSTRATCOM's Global Operations Center and Airborne Command Post (LOOKING GLASS) ensuring survivable nuclear command and control capabilities for Department of Defense senior leaders.
