Colonel John R. Schantz is the Commander, 90th Maintenance Group, at F.E. Warren AFB, Wyoming. Under his command the proud Airmen in the group provide world-class maintenance for the 90th Missile Wing’s 150 Minuteman III Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles (ICBM), 150 launch facilities, 15 missile alert facilities and launch control centers, and associated nuclear and conventional munitions in support of United States Strategic Command.
Colonel Schantz commissioned in 2001 through the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps at the University of Louisville. During his career, he has served in various roles within Air Force Space Command, Air Combat Command, Air Force Global Strike Command, Pacific Air Forces, and United Air Forces in Europe and Air Forces Africa. Throughout his career he has led teams in aircraft, nuclear and conventional munitions maintenance at the squadron and headquarters level. Most recently, Colonel Schantz served as the Director of Logistics, Programs, and Requirements, Headquarters Twentieth Air Force.
