Colonel John F. Hundley

Col. John F. Hundley is the Deputy Commander, 90th Missile Wing, Francis E. Warren Air Force Base, Wyo. The wing’s 4,200 military, civilian and contractor personnel defend the United States with combat-ready Airmen and nuclear forces. They provide strategic nuclear deterrence by operating, maintaining, securing and supporting 150 Minuteman III Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles, which are constantly ready to launch at the direction of the President of the United States.

Colonel Hundley is a career nuclear officer with extensive operations, plans and strategy experience at the wing, Joint Staff and White House Military Office. He served as a Minuteman III ICBM instructor, evaluator, weapon system test and evaluation flight commander, chief of ICBM codes, squadron director of operations, and deputy commander of the 90th Operations Group. He commanded the 90th Operations Support Squadron and has deployed to Southwest Asia in support of Operations IRAQI FREEDOM, ENDURING FREEDOM, and Combined Joint Task Force Horn of Africa. His staff experience includes serving as the Branch Chief of Contingency Operations and Plans within the White House Military Office and as a joint planner on the Joint Staff (J5). Prior to his current assignment, Colonel Hundley served as the Chief of the Strategic Deterrence and Nuclear Policy Division within the Strategic Stability Deputy Directorate of the Joint Staff (J5).
