This is a reminder that F. E. Warren Air Force base is a no drone zone. Launching, landing or operating unmanned, or remote controlled drones or model rockets is prohibited on base at all times. Many drone users may not know that they inadvertently pose a threat to military operations.

In accordance with UAS NOTAM FDC 7/7282, the operation of drones, model aircraft, model rockets and other unmanned aircraft systems (UAS) on or over the installation is prohibited.  This prohibition includes civic, commercial and privately owned drones.  Operators who violate the airspace restrictions may be subject to enforcement action, including potential civil penalties and criminal charges.  For information about proper locations and rules for drone operation, visit the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) UAS Website “Getting Started” at https://www.faa.gov/uas/getting_started

Strict airspace rules also apply off-base.  Unmanned aircraft systems may not be flown within five miles of the Cheyenne Airport without authorization and are restricted to flying at or lower than specific heights stated by the FAA.  Visit the “B4Ufly” mobile application if you have questions about the specifics of flying UAS off-base.  This app shows your current location and informs you of notifications you need to make to local airfields.

Again, under no circumstances should you fly drones or other UAS on F. E. Warren Air Force Base.  Consequences of violating these rules can be up to and including non-judicial punishment. Please be aware of these regulations and pass them on to your Airmen and families.
