Operation Provide Joy was a go at the F.E. Warren Trails End Ballroom on Dec. 9, 2017.

Each year local children have the opportunity to visit the base and receive a day of holiday cheer while visiting with Santa, playing games, and making crafts.

The event was a joint effort between the 321st Missile Squadron and the Salvation Army. Volunteers from around base help prepare and ensure the event runs smoothly throughout the week.

During the event, Airmen participated with the approximately 45 children to ensure everyone experienced the joys of the event.

“I enjoy helping out at events and hanging out with the kids,” said Airman 1st Class Brandon Ramsumair, 90th Comptroller Squadron financial analyst technician. “It’s a fun time for everyone, and it’s a good event with a wonderful purpose.”

The event was established to booster community partnership and help local families in need get their children into the holiday spirit.

While the children made bead necklaces and had their faces painted, Santa snuck into the building with his elf. Many of the children in attendance said meeting Santa was the highlight of the event.

Santa sat down with every child to hear their holiday wishes, then presented them with a bag of toys. The toys were donated by Airmen across the base.
