Warren AFB, Wyo. -- Warren parents who deploy to missile fields may find themselves fighting two battles when it comes to child care. The first battle is primary child care during the daytime, and the second battle is with child care in the evenings. Many missions at Warren require Airmen to deploy for several days, creating a need for additional child care. The Missile Care program provides parents with an alternative to expensive over-night child care. "The program gives the children consistency," said Mara Lackie, Warren Family Child Care coordinator. The program is unique to select missile site installations such as Warren. It provides child care services overnight, weekends and holidays. The program is intended as a supplement to a parent's primary child care arrangements. Selected providers take care of the children outside their daytime child care by providing transportation to and from school or daycare, and taking care of them in the providers' homes. The program is free for Warren members. "The program is here to help you with your children and to allow you to complete your mission," Ms. Lackie said.
