In 2008, Senior Airman Jon Ware, 90th Security Forces Squadron, started a new project.

With just his acoustic guitar and a $10 voice recorder, one of Air Force Global Strike Command's own started recording songs and posting them on a MySpace page called Reboot the Robot.

Before long, he started to see a fan base forming, which was further inspiration to write more songs.

Roughly a year later, and Reboot the Robot's first album "Nothing, Something, Everything" was released July 14, 2009.

By this time, Airman Ware's fan base had grown beyond MySpace, and after seeing positive reviews and a great reaction from the fans who wanted to hear more, he went right back to work.

Later that same year, Airman Ware traveled to Blind Dog Audio in Longmont Colo., to record "When All We Have," for this album, he went through some unfinished pieces, along with new work.

"I've been playing guitar since I was a kid, it's a great way to express yourself and connect with people," said airman Ware. "That's how I met my wife, actually," he added.
While things like MySpace and word of mouth have helped to build Reboot the Robot's reputation, his time in the Air Force has helped to facilitate his passion for music.

"My job in the Air Force hasn't just helped me pay for studio time," he said. "Being in security forces gives me a schedule that allows time to write, record and even go play a show or two out of town if I want," added Ware.

Even though he's had offers from record companies, he's excited about what he's doing here at Warren.

He's carrying on a family tradition; his mother spent four years as an air traffic controller with the Air Force.

"I really enjoy what I do and the people I work with, I wouldn't trade being a part of the Regulators for anything," said airman Ware.

While Airman Ware is focused on his job with the 90th SFS, showing pride in our nuclear heritage and mission, things are also falling into place with his music.

He recently got a sponsorship with Verite Guitars, a company located in Longmont, Colo., owned by the father of another Warren airman, Senior Airman James Bartee, 90th SFS.

"They're incredible guitars; I love playing them, they produce sounds you don't hear from any other guitars out there," said Airman Ware.

He's also working on expanding Reboot the Robot into a full touring band and a tour is currently in the works for the spring.

The next couple months also hold some big events for Airman Ware and his music. A new album is due out Nov. 17 featuring all original work.

Next month's issue of Amp Magazine will also have a feature on Reboot the Robot.
