Many readers don't get past the first paragraph, so allow me to say up front, thank you for your hard work and dedication in preparing for our nuclear surety inspection and operational readiness inspection. We are ready for inspection!

The wing continues on a roll, and without doubt, we will roll right through our inspections in September with grace and style. That's who we are, and it's what we do. It is no wonder we are the best space wing in the Air Force.

Not only will the Air Force Space Command Inspector General be on base, but so will inspectors from the Defense Threat Reduction Agency, Air Force Inspection Agency and Air Force Materiel Command IG. I'm thrilled to have these teams on base--- all the more inspectors to impress. As they say here in Wyoming, "Yee haw!"

Even while our wing readies itself for inspection, many major activities are ongoing, and they are all being done in an impressive manner. Here are just a few:

- Air Force Incident Management System implementation

- Emergency War Order revision

- Simulated Electronic Launch Minuteman testing

- Hardness Surveillance Evaluation Program

- Remove Visual Assessment installation

- Weapon Storage Area security system refresh

- National Security Personnel System implementation

- End of year fiscal closeout

- A myriad of Minuteman sustainment programs

- Air Expeditionary Force 9/10 deployment

- Army National Guard BRAC initiative

While the above activities were going full bore throughout the summer, the wing also conducted two "pass in review" change of command ceremonies, hosted many high profile visits to include three four-star generals, the governor of Wyoming (twice) and the nation's newest senator. The wing also participated in eight parades, supported Cheyenne Frontier Days, held an open house and sponsored the Air Force Thunderbirds.

While supporting these events, the wing accommodated 340 academy cadets, 85 ROTC cadets, and over more than 300 other significant military and civilian leaders, each given a full ICBM orientation. I greatly appreciate the view that these activities do not detract from our mission, but they are part of our mission. Everyone wants to come to Warren to learn about missiles, and we have the responsibility to teach them.

Equally impressively, the wing has broken records with 77 continuous days without a DUI and with only 10 DUIs for the year. People are watching out for others as we near the end of 101 Critical Days of Summer with only four Class C accidents, and our law enforcement open investigations list is at an all time low.

Yes indeed, the Mighty Ninety is on a roll. Each of you are making huge contributions to our nuclear mission and, at the same time, ensuring that we are prepared and ready to deploy. All the while, you are continuing our tradition of providing world class support to our base and our community, and you are taking care of each other in a superb manner.

I am truly humbled. You have more than earned every accolade that has come your way as best in class for mission accomplishment, and base of choice for quality of life. Given all that we have done, and all that we continue to do, it's a certainty that we will have an "Outstanding" inspection.
