The Air Force director of security forces and force protection visited Warren October 23 to October 27.

Brig. Gen. Mary Kay Hertog met with Warren Airmen to discuss Air Expeditionary Force possibilities, learn the base's history and mission and to tour the 90th Ground Combat Training Squadron located at Camp Guernsey, Wyo.

"It was a rewarding visit," stated Maj. Joe Gallagher, 90th GCTS commander. "Not only did we get to speak to the head of our career field about the future, we got to show it to her in action."

In addition to visiting the security forces' newest squadron, the general also toured a launch facility in Colorado where security forces showed her how they work with the maintenance group to ensure all 150 Minuteman III Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles are safe and secure at every moment.

The tour also included how security forces can defend the launch facility.

General Hertog met with members of the entire ICBM team: she toured the "Mike" missile alert facility and met with the facility manager, the chef and the missileers.

The general wrapped up her tour with a security forces all-call where the discussed security forces AEF rotations, the vision of standardized gear configuration and both nuclear and non-nuclear security forces transformations slated for future occurrence.
