Warren hosts training assembly Published Aug. 1, 2007 By Airman Alex Martinez 90th Space Wing Public Affairs F. E. Warren AFB, Wyo. -- The Northern Region Common Training Assembly took place here in the Trail's End club July 12 and 13. Individual mobilization augmentees throughout the northern region of Air Force Space Command attended the CTA to receive required training. The northern region includes Warren, Minot, Malmstrom and Buckley Air Force bases. "This CTA has been great so far," said Master Sgt. Terri Reed, base IMA administrator. "The IMAs really enjoy coming here because of all the history and heritage of the base." This CTA is one of the four held every year for IMAs to achieve required readiness training such as fitness testing; self-aid buddy care; life skills; and family care. By completing the training, it will allow for active-duty units to focus on job-specific requirements when the Reservists arrive for annual tour and inactive duty training. This year, the CTAs have had more of a focus on readiness due to increased deployments throughout the Air Force. "In the past the focus was mostly on ancillary training," said Master Sgt. Sheri Harrison, Patrick AFB, Fla., base IMA administrator. "Although a lot of ancillary training is covered, the focus has shifted to readiness. [IMAs] are able to take care of their medical and dental needs more easily to be ready for deployments." The medical clinic here has been able to process the CTA attendees quickly and efficiently. "The medical offices have gone out of their way to accommodate all of the IMAs," Sergeant Reed said. Col. Christopher Martin, program manager for Det. 4 of the Air Force Reserve Command Readiness Management Group, gave the assembly opening remarks. Col. Mike Morgan, 90th Space Wing commander, briefed the attendees about the importance of their mission roles and readiness, and Col. Roscoe Griffin, AFSPC Reserve director, touched on updates with the Air Force Reserve forces.
