U.S. AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo., -- Col. (Retired) Carol A. Holland, a community member of Cheyenne and a 30-year U.S. Air Force admissions liaison officer earned the Admissions Liaison Officer Lifetime Achievement Award at the Air Force Academy's Annual Liaison Officer Directors' Awards Banquet held recently.

As one of more than 1,600 liaison officers world-wide, Colonel Holland distinguished herself and the academy through her many voluntary actions in support of the admissions liaison officer program for more than 30 years.

During this time, Colonel Holland spoke to thousands of students, parents and educators about education and commissioning opportunities at the academy and the Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps throughout the state of Wyoming.

Her dedication, even in retirement, led her to serve as the area's liaison officer director for 26 years, the Advisory Panel Retiree/Silver Falcon representative, as well as numerous other liaison duties with community, educator and congressional leaders.

Colonel Holland's exceptional involvement in the Leaders Encouraging Airman Development and Scholarships for Outstanding Airmen to Reserve Officer Training Corps programs resulted in more than 30 Airmen earning academy appointments and college scholarships.

One of Colonel Holland's greatest accomplishments was as co-founding member of the General Kenneth L. Tallman Endowment Fund.

Her spirit and dedication are directly responsible for its enduring recognition of more than 1,400 Admissions Liaison Officers and Admissions Directorate staff with Tallman Service Awards.

The distinctive and outstanding achievements of Colonel Holland mirror her lifelong commitment to the youth of America.
