The commander of the 90th Missile Wing spent time showing appreciation to the honor guard members in the Pronghorn Center here April 21.

Col. Greg Tims presented members of Warren's honor guard with coins as he and Chief Master Sgt. Marty Anderson, 90th MW command chief, shared their appreciation for the dedication and service the honor guard provides.

"This is the second year I've been the NCO-in-charge of the honor guard here," said Staff Sgt. Fredrick Stewart, 90th Forces Support Squadron. "And each year, Colonel Tims thanks us deeply for our commitment to professionalism with the simple gesture of 'coining' us. I can't tell you how proud I am to be serving alongside each and every member of the honor guard here."

Before Colonel Tims arrived, Sergeant Stewart and 1st Lt. Dane Skousen, 320th Missile Squadron, performed an open ranks inspection to ensure the honor guard members looked their best prior to be presented to the commander.

Ensuring everyone looks their best is something that is done prior to any detail getting ready to perform their honor guard duties, Sergeant Stewart said. Not only are the members here representing the wing, but they are also representing Air Force Global Strike Command and the Air Force as a whole.

Some of the duties honor guard members perform are military funeral details as well as presenting the colors at multiple events.
