Col. John Dines assumed command of the 90th Mission Support Group during a
change of command ceremony June 23, 2022, on F.E. Warren Air Force Base.

Col. Catherine Barrington, 90th Missile Wing commander, served as the
presiding officer, welcoming Dines and his family to the Mighty Ninety.

“Col. Dines is an incredible leader in his own right with a record of success and amazing leadership acumen,” said Barrington. “He is steeped in nuclear command, control and communications.”

Prior to his new position, Dines was the Chief of Nuclear Command, Control and Communications Division, Deputy Chief of Staff for Strategic Defense and Nuclear Integration, at the Headquarters Air Force in the Pentagon, Washington D.C.

“To my fellow group commanders and squadron leadership, I’m looking forward to being your teammate and doing what we can to make sure the mission gets done,” said Dines. “Proud to be, MSG!”

Col. Carolyn Ammons, outgoing 90 MSG commander, will take on the role of
Commander of the Air Force Services Center in San Antonio, Texas.

A change of command ceremony is a tradition that represents a formal
transfer of authority and responsibility from the outgoing commander to the
incoming commander.
