COLONEL HANS V. RITSCHARD

Colonel Hans V. Ritschard is the Commander of the 90th Medical Group at F. E. Warren AFB in Cheyenne, Wyoming. He leads a staff of 228 personnel in executing a $9.8 million dollar budget, serving over 21,000 beneficiaries. The 90th Medical Group ensures the nuclear reliability and deployability of wing personnel; delivers cost-effective, accessible, community-based health care; promotes healthy lifestyles through preventive medical services & education; and prepares, mobilizes, & deploys medical resources for contingency operations worldwide. The Group also maintains war reserve materiel projects worth over $4M, supporting global expeditionary operations.

Colonel Ritschard is a 1985 graduate of Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. A board certified clinical psychologist, he has held a variety of clinical, staff, and command positions. He served as a child psychologist at both Wiesbaden AB, Germany and RAF Lakenheath, England, and later as a mental health flight commander and interim squadron commander at Misawa AB, Japan. He has commanded both the 366th Medical Operations Squadron and the 88th Diagnostics and Therapeutics Squadron, and served as the Director of DoD Psychological Health Strategic Operations for the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense (Force Health Protection & Readiness). He has maintained an active program of professional scholarship in the areas of leadership development, organizational change, deployment mental health, and child psychology, and has authored more than 90 professional presentations, peer-reviewed articles, book chapters, monographs/reports, and a US patent.
