Spouses of all ranks welcome to WSC

F. E. Warren AFB, Wyo. -- The Warren Spouses' Club is looking for new members who are looking for a great way to get out of the house, make new friends and get involved in activities around the base. The WSC is open to all spouses of active duty, guard and reserve personnel assigned to Warren and the local area. They have associate memberships available for active duty members as well. Many people may have heard of the club or have participated in one of their many functions.

The WSC is approaching a new year with a new executive board. The new board consists of Terri Cresswell, president; Constance Zatorski, 1st vice president; Angel Mann, 2nd vice president; Jennifer Williams, secretary; Maressa Taylor, welfare treasurer; and Julie Gheesling, operations treasurer. There are ten other standing committees' chairpersons.

The WSC is a nonprofit social organization. In addition to social events and special activities, they have a charitable side that raises scholarship money for military spouses and dependants assigned to Warren and the local area. Last year, the WSC awarded $24,300 to 17 scholarship recipients. The WSC operates the base thrift shop and all proceeds go to scholarships. We also donate money to services within Warren and the Cheyenne community.

Once a month, the WSC hosts a social event in the evenings for our members that is a chance for members to get away from the demands of busy schedules and enjoy good company, food and fun. These events are held on the third Tuesday of each month, August through May. The WSC will be kicking off the year in August with an annual membership drive, so anybody who is interested in joining and finding out what WSC is all about should attend this function. Visitors can learn more about us at Frontiercade in August. The WSC is also planning a scavenger hunt, ghost ride, basket auction and more.
