Gate Change Operations during Fort D.A. Russell Days and CFD (20 – 22 July 2018)

To ensure safe and uninterrupted access on/off the installation during the event, the following gate changes will be in effect from 20 – 22 July 2018.

Ft D.A. Russell Access ONLY:  Gate 1 (Main gate on Randall/Pershing Ave).  This gate will ONLY provide access to/from the event.  Vehicles will NOT be able to gain installation access outside of the event area from this gate.  This gate will be used for any and all patrons who desire to visit and/or are participating in Ft D.A. Russell event.  

Gate 1 Operating Hours:  The main gate will be open during the following days/hours for event access:

Friday/20 July – open for event access from 0700 – 1700. 

Saturday/21 July – open for event access from 0700 – 2200. 

Sunday/22 July – open for event access from 0700 – 1700.   

Event Parking (visitors/working patrons):  Will be directed to use the parking lot of Trail’s End club (East side).

Installation Access ONLY:  Gate 5 (north gate on Central Ave; off of exit 12 on Interstate 25).  This gate will be used for any and all permanently assigned, TDY, visitors, contractors, retirees, etc who require installation access.

Gate 5 Operating Hours:  Open for installation access 24 hours 20 July – 22 July 2018.

Event Parking (base populace):  Parking lot adjacent to the running track/blue pad at Freedom Hall Fitness Center.

Gate 1 and 5 operations will resume normal hours on Monday, 23 July.

Warren opens its doors to the community July 20 - 22

F.E. Warren will host its annual open house, Fort D.A. Russell Days, July 20-22 to provide community members an opportunity to learn about the base’s mission and history.

All events during the three-day open house are open to the public and include historic military presentations, security forces dog demonstrations, modern ICBM mission displays and period-style dances.

People interested in attending any of the events may access the base through Gate 1 off of Randall Avenue. Please remain in the far right lane when entering the base. All adults must have a photo I.D. and all vehicles are subject to random checks by security forces personnel. Parking will be alongside Schriever Road.

9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. – Buses will be running from Cheyenne Frontier Days to F. E. Warren AFB.  Catch the bus in front of the CFD grounds where buses drop people off for the Park ‘n Ride. Visitors can ride free between each venue.  FREE.

9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Living History Presentations, Centennial Lake /Main Gate, F. E. Warren AFB.  Parking along the street. Free

11:00 a.m.4:30 p.m. –Buffalo Roast Dinner. Open to the Public. Choice of Braised Buffalo or Roasted Chicken Breast with a Sage Pan Sauce, 4 sides - Mashed Potatoes Baked Macaroni & Cheese, Roosevelt Baked Beans, Corn on the Cob, bread basket, dessert and alcohol $20 per plate or non-alcohol drink $17 per plate.  Kids plates range from $7-$12 depending age. 9:00 a.m. – 3:00p.m. – Tours of Minuteman ICBM Launch Facility (U-1, with Payload Transporter) Launch Control Center Trainers, and visit the Warren ICBM & Heritage Museum, Maintenance Vehicles: Transporter Erector and Periodic Maintenance Team Van (Tractor/Trailer), Nuclear Payload Transporter, HMMWV, other vehicles. Transportation is provided for tours on base, pickup at F. E. Warren AFB.  Please provide picture ID for the tour, no cameras or large bags allowed. Last bus leaves at 2:30 for the tour. 7:00 a.m. – Parking Opens
