The Education and Training Center

The Education and Training Center is located at 1205 Ziemann Blvd, Bldg. 841, and Education Customer Service is open every Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., with other offices open 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. They provide the highest quality educational opportunities to Active Duty, National Guard and Reserve officers, enlisted, military dependents, retirees, DOD civilians and the on-base community. Services include testing, counseling, tuition funding requests (tuition assistance, TA), financial aid information and degree programs ranging from associates through masters.

Voluntary educational testing for college credit may be accomplished through the College Level Examination Program electronic format, or through Defense Activities for Non-Traditional Education Support Standardized Subject Tests. The ACT Assessment Program exam and SAT are also available. Military personnel are administered the exams free of charge; however, there is a fee for re-takes.

The Education Center is staffed to meet your needs for education and vocational planning. Counseling services are available to advise on degree programs, goal setting, financial support for education, and a number of other educational opportunities and programs. Let us help you with course selection, obtaining transcripts, and a host of other education related activities. Individualized planning is available for those pursuing an Associate of Applied Science degree from the Community College of the Air Force, which can include progress report reviews, unofficial transcript evaluations, and advisement.

Locally available certification and associates degree programs are offered through Laramie County Community College. Classes are conducted on-base, at the Cheyenne branch campus location, or on-line. Bachelor's degree programs are offered on-base and on-line through Park University, in addition to online master's degrees. There is also a wide variety of information available on distance learning programs from accredited colleges and universities.

Community College of the Air Force

CCAF offers enlisted active duty Air Force, Air National Guard, and AF Active Reserve members the opportunity to complete an Associate of Applied Science degree in their given Air Force Specialty Codes. SAT and ACT Assessment Program exams.

SAT and ACT exams are administered free to military personnel; however, there is a fee for re-takes. The exams are given on the third Wednesday of each month at 8 a.m. in Room 20. LCCC is a full-service community college that offers a wide variety of courses at its main campus in Cheyenne, Wyoming; at the Albany County campus in Laramie (adjacent to the University of Wyoming); in Pine Bluffs, Wyoming; and at its Outreach Center, located in Room 2, F.E. Warren AFB Education Center. On-base courses are provided to support a myriad of degree programs (both associates and bachelors transfer degrees) and to assist those students who are working toward completion of their CCAF degree. Additionally, LCCC provides another avenue for students to complete degree requirements on-base via cost-free eCLEP and DANTES testing, located at the Education Center. Park University

Park University offers bachelor degree programs in Criminal Justice, Social Psychology, Management, and Management with specializations in Human Resources and Computer Information Systems. Military Testing Information

The Military Testing Officer schedules and administers all military exams (i.e., WAPS, AFCT, DLPT, DLAB, AFOQT, TBAS and EDPT) in Room 9. To schedule, call 773-3320.

To schedule PME testing, call 773-2117/4338. Testing is scheduled for Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 8 a.m. and Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday at 1 p.m.  All CDC testing should be scheduled through a member's Unit Training Manager.

Formal Training

Formal training is a key component to improving Airman professional competence and helping the Air Force maintain its combat capability in today's dynamic environment. It includes training at in-resident senior noncommissioned officer and NCO academies as well as all Air Force-level supplemental training such as security, communications or electronics, and instruction at 7-level in-resident schools. Base Training

Base OPR for developing, implementing, and managing training policies and procedures. Coordinates and disseminates training policy and program changes, assists commanders and unit personnel with developing training programs, OPR for 7 level school quota management, installation/wing commander quarterly brief on Status of Training, Conduct Staff Assistance Visits, Conducts Base Training quarterly meetings, OPR for external surveys and evaluations. Civilian Training

The Civilian Training Manager assists and advises leadership and management regarding the training and development of their employees as well as the various types and sources of training and funding options available to them. The CTM also assists management, upon request, in identifying and developing formal training plans for those employees in developmental positions and is responsible for ensuring all new civilians complete the New Employee Orientation training. Civilian Training also provides both individual and group briefings regarding civilian training needs, career development and broadening opportunities, professional military education opportunities and education funding. Financial Assistance

Air Force Tuition Funding Requests (Tuition Assistance)
Tuition funding is available to Air Force active duty personnel to assist them in meeting tuition costs, up to $250 per semester hour and $4500 total per fiscal year, through the AF Virtual Education Center.  For further information or assistance visit the Education Center Customer Service in Room 23, by telephone at (307) 773-2117, or email our organizational box at

Montgomery GI Bill, Chapter 30 Program
The MGIB program provides up to 36 months of education benefits. This benefit may be used for degree and certificate programs, flight training, apprenticeship/on-the-job training and correspondence courses. Remedial, deficiency, and refresher courses may be approved under certain circumstances. If you are currently in service, you may be eligible to begin using your benefits after two years of active duty. Generally, benefits are payable for 10 years following your release from active duty. The current full-time rate is $1,717 per month. *$600 Buy-up Program: Some service members may contribute up to an additional $600 to the GI Bill to receive up to $5400 in additional GI Bill benefits. The additional contribution must be made while on active duty. For more information contact the Education Office.
*Tuition Assistance Top Up: "Top up" pays for the portion of school cost that Tuition Assistance doesn't cover (up to 100% of current GI Bill benefit allowed).
*Licensing and Certification: The MGIB covers reimbursement of the cost of tests leading to licensing and certification requirements such as a real estate license, etc., per pre-approval by the VA.

Post-9/11 GI Bill, Chapter 33 Program
Individuals who serve at least 90 days of aggregate service after September 11, 2001 are eligible. To be eligible for 100% of the benefit, an individual must have served an aggregate of 36 months of active duty service, or have been discharged for a service-connected disability after 30 days of continuous service. Post-9/11 GI Bill benefits differ from other education assistance programs in that each type of payment is issued separately, with some payments made directly to the school and others issued to the individual.
Active duty personnel are not eligible for the Post-9/11 GI Bill monthly housing allowance. To elect transfer of MGIB benefits to spouse and/or dependents, visit and select Manage/Education. Children using transferred benefits will receive the monthly living stipend and the books and supplies stipend. Spouses will only receive the books and supplies stipend while member is still active duty.

Approved training under the Post-9/11 GI Bill includes certificate, undergraduate and graduate degrees. All training programs must be offered by a degree-granting institution of higher learning and approved for GI Bill benefits. Additionally, tutorial assistance and reimbursement for licensing or certification tests are available under the Post- 9/11 GI Bill. The period of eligibility for the Post 9/11 GI Bill ends 15 years from the date of the last discharge or release from active duty of at least: 90 consecutive days or 30 days but less than 90 days if released for a service-connected disability, Or: 15 years from the date of discharge for the last period of service used to meet the minimum service requirements of 90 aggregate days of service.
