The F.E. Warren Air Force Base Fire & Emergency Service is the only agency in Air Force Global Strike Command and the state of Wyoming to achieve Internationally Accredited Agency status with the Commission on Fire Accreditation International and the Center for Public Safety Excellence, Inc.

Francis E. Warren AFB Fire & Emergency Services has received accredited agency status with CFAI for meeting the criteria established through the voluntary self-assessment and accreditation program.

“Being an accredited agency means we are a community focused, data driven, strategic-minded organization,” said Greg Chesser, 90th Civil Engineer Squadron fire chief. “We are focused on continuous improvement both internally and externally, ensuring we provide the highest quality of emergency service.”

The two-part evaluation begins with a site visit from a four-person peer team, then is finalized by the agency’s fire chief and accreditation manager appearing before the CFAI Commission.  F.E. Warren began the accreditation process in 2010, first achieving accredited status in 2014 and has held it since.

“We as a department must submit a compliance report to CFAI annually to maintain our accreditation,” said Chesser. “We are always evaluating our strengths and weaknesses to do better every day.”

The CFAI process is voluntary and provides an agency with an improvement model to assess their service delivery. Achieving excellence through self-assessment and accreditation in order to provide continuous quality improvement and the enhancement of service delivery to their communities.

The agency’s achievement of accredited agency status demonstrates the commitment of the agency to provide the highest quality of service to our community, Chesser added.

“We have also been able to use the CFAI’s process as a proactive mechanism to plan for the future of this agency and locate areas where we can improve on the quality of the services we provide,” said Chesser.
