The Australian Department of Defence Space Orientation and Emersion Program team visited Warren Aug. 13 as a step in expanding the country's space capabilities.

This is the first Australian group to visit the United States to broaden their education on specific space tasks and training.

The team consisted of four members of the Australian military from various backgrounds and career fields in an attempt to provide four separate opinions.

"We're grateful for the opportunity to view the important mission at F.E. Warren," said Sq. Leader Roger Halford. "This base is a vital part of Space Command and has helped us understand the space mission better."

Their visit occurred on week 10 of their 14 weeks spent traveling to different bases researching all the aspects of Air Force Space Command. The next stop is U.S. Strategic Command.

"The team saw our pride and professionalism that we take in our jobs here at Warren and were overwhelmed," said Maj. David Williams, 90th Security Support Squadron commander and project officer escort lead. "Everyone that was involved in supporting their visit gave 100 percent, and we couldn't have asked for more."

"We're looking forward to working with America," Squadron Leader Halford said. "This visit will shape future coordinations with the two governments."
